On Election Day, voters in Maryland voted in many new ‘questions’ that focused on issues ranging from gambling to tuition costs. But only one focused on a fundamental human right. Tim Horsey has the story.                     The LGBT center is quiet now, but during election season, members of the staff were busy campaigning for Question 6

TWE’s Liz Ugolini takes a look at how Thanksgiving is prepared at a local women’s shelter.                     Interfaith Works, which runs the Wilkins Ave. Women’s Assessment Center Rockville, MD, organizes volunteers to provide the shelter with meals 365 days a year, including holidays.

If you ever come to the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland to see a performance you’ll quickly notice those on stage very seldom look like those who fill the seats. But one particular play this semester is bringing in a whole new audience. Reporter Marquis Goodwin went to find out why there’s been such a change. In the Red                     A packed crowd stays in their seats during the intermission of the play In The Red and Brown Water performed by the school of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies Thursday night in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at theUniversity of Maryland.

Maryland football has struggled through injuries in the 2012 season, but Senior Day is a tradition that continues to hold importance both at Maryland and across the country. It was a big day for democrats on Election Day in Maryland, as president Obama was re-elected and several ballot initiatives were passed. Matt Meiselman has the story.                     Obama supporters gathered in front of the White House Tuesday night to celebrate the president’s re-election.

How did Republicans on campus feel after the election? Eric Garment talks with some members of the losing side.                     This wall on campus was plastered on Election Day with the political stances of the two major candidates as well as the two leading third-party candidates.

There is a men’s sports program at the University of Maryland that consistently wins the ACC…but it’s probably not the team you’d think. Marquis Goodwin has the story. Wrestling                     On November 6, 2012 the University of Maryland Wrestling team sat down before practice to watch highlights of their wins over West Virginia and Johns Hopkins from the season’s first dual meet.

For people in the College Park area, a hurricane means more than just no class, no work, and no power. It is the ultimate excuse to have a party. Liz Ugolini investigates the idea behind ‘storm parties.’ Storm Drinking                     Alcohol became a daily staple for people cooped up in their rooms earlier this week due to Hurricane Sandy.

Running in a 5k is hard work, but what happens when the participants have to dodge flesh eating zombies while they race to the finish line? Matt Meiselman has the story. Zombies                     This year “Run For Your Lives,” a 5K zombie infested obstacle course took place in Darlington, Maryland October 27-28.
