Flag Football: the biggest sport at Maryland

Flag football is extremely popular at Maryland, and over 2,000 students play each fall. 
The regional flag football championship was held at Maryland from November 9th to 11th.

Most kids only dream of becoming a college athlete. It takes ambition, tenacious resolve, and a willingness to go to any lengths to make that dream a reality. But for those who do, what happens when that dream is over? Marquis Goodwin takes a look at how Terp student-athletes translate their on-field achievements into post graduate careers. 
Azizuddin ‘Ziz’ Abdur-Ra’oof was once a standout wide receiver for the Terrapins and drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1988 but now serves as the executive director of the ‘M’ Club for the the University of Maryland’s athletic department.

Maryland Athletics and the Big Ten

By moving to the Big Ten, Maryland will drastically improve its athletic program and escape the financial burden it has been dealing with for the last several years. Matt Meiselman has more. 
Maryland will begin participating in the Big 10 in the fall of 2014.
Maryland Academics and the Big Ten

The decision to join the Big 10 was about more than just money and prestige. Mary Wolmer looks at a different motive behind the move. 
The Committee on Institutional Cooperation is made up the the Big Ten schools and the University of Chicago.
Office of Student Conduct

A proposed amendment to the UMD Code of Student Conduct aims to expand Office of Student Conduct jurisdiction to off-campus violations that ‘propose a threat to a member of the university community or is substantially disruptive and of interest to the university. Liz Ugolini has the story. 
The Office of Student Conduct, located on the second floor of the Mitchell Building, will see many more students coming through its doors if the new amendment to the student code passes.
